Japanese Gardens

It was a beautiful day in Portland, and I was itching to get my camera out and take pictures of SOMETHING, ANYTHING, so we went to the Japanese Gardens. I'm not much of a flower-picture person, but I like a few here and there.... We mainly went just to see the cherry blossom trees which are so beautiful this time of year.

Some of the Portland skyline with Mt. Hood overlooking the city

Japanese maple, I think. I think the kinky branches are so awesome

My favorite part about cherry blossom trees is the petals that fall to the ground in a big circle underneath the tree. Seems like pink snow! :)

Dave is much better at taking flower pictures than I am.

Don't know what these are called, but I'm sure it's supposed to make your feel relaxed and calm........deep breath......ahhhhhh.....

My only little flower picture :)

Me - and yes, my hair is now red.....or auburn is probably a better word...

Mr. and Mrs. taking a bath

oh! oops, here is another flower picture. haha

I love flower photos probably a little too much! The red flower is stunning, not sure what it is? The ducks bathing turned out beautiful! I think it might be two males, doesn't the female have an all brown head?

The Japanese Gardens is such a fun place to go! It has been on our agenda for some time, but just hasn't worked out yet. I always like the skyline pictures with Mt Hood pulled in like it is within reach.

That's pretty. Those raked sand things are relaxing and calming! I always wonder if they are calming because I THINK they should be calming, or if they actually are just calming. Then I ponder upon that, and it agitates me enough that I am no longer relaxed, but just bored, and I feel the need to move on. Love the hanging blossom, that's gorgeous!
